3D / Puff Embroidery

3D embroidery has become very popular in the embroidered headwear market. It is achieved by applying a layer of foam to the garment and embroidering over it. The excess foam is then peeled away leaving you with a dramatic raised embroidery effect.

The effects are most noticeable on columns of 1/4” – 5/8”. Anything less will compress the foam so the effect will be minimal. Anything more will generally require a fill stitch. A fill stitch will compress the foam and completely eliminate the effect. Depending on the design we may be able to combine two columns to achieve a wider 3D embroidered area.
